Our Service Policies:

We want your dog's grooming experience to be enjoyable for you and your dog. Our policies are put in place to provide the best possible experience for all of our customers.

Payments and Appointments

Payment is due at time of service. We accept cash, check, or credit card. Returned checks will be subject to a $25.00 fee in addition to the grooming charge for which the check was intended.

Please arrive to your appointment on time. If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, or if you are running late for your appointment - please call us at 717-799-5149 before your appointment time. After 30 minutes late without contacting us, you will be charged a $10 fee and have to reschedule your appointment. This late fee will be automatically added to your next appointment. Please see our No SHOW clause below.

Please arrive to pick up your dog at the time agreed upon when your dog was dropped off. Please be prompt in picking up your dog. You will be charged $5 per half hour for late pick-ups without prior arrangement.

Vaccination Requirements
All pets being groomed must be current on Rabies vaccination. DHLPP and Bordetella vaccinations recommended. Proof of current vaccinations must be on Veterinary letterhead and required prior to any groom. If your pet does not have Rabies vaccination, the Groomer will not groom your pet. This policy is to ensure the health and safety of both pet and Groomer, as well as required by PA State Law.

Health & Behavior
Disclosing that a pet may have aggressive tendencies does not automatically result in a refusal to groom. This allows the groomer to be mindful of the pet's behavior while being groomed so the groomer can avoid being bitten, avoid injury to the petand make the grooming experience pleasant for your pet.

Matted Pets
Our Groomer will provide a maximum of 20 minutes of de-matting time, IF THE PET IS HIGHLY TOLERANT TO IT. Additional charges will apply or be recommended if more time is needed. We will do our best to call you to inform you of any special de-matting needs prior to the service. Please keep in mind de-matting a pet is very painful and can ruin the coat. The safest alternative is to strip the pet and start the coat over. Our Groomer will be happy to demonstrate some effective brushing techniques for mat prevention. Brushes and combs will be available for purchase

Ears to Rears is not responsible for any condition uncovered by the Groomer due to extreme matting issues or injuries to the skin. A veterinarian consultation will be recommended to deal with any condition at the Owner's expense. Our Groomer does not diagnose medical conditions nor prescribe medications.

Refusal of Services
Ears to Rears reserves the right to refuse service to overly aggressive pets, severely matted pets, or pets with health issues that may require a visit to the veterinarian. Any issues (health or behavior) not disclosed to the Groomer by the Owner or unknown by the Owner, may result in the immediate termination of the grooming session at the Owner's expense.

All equiptment and housing, are disinfected between each pet. Towels are never reused and we use only clean, fresh water for bathing and cleaning (no recycling of water here!).

For the health, safety and comfort of your pet we provide separate, housing for each pet during their visits. Your pet will receive frequent opportunities to stretch out during their stay and fresh water to drink.

Pets are never drugged or sedated in any way. If your pet cannot be groomed without them, it is suggested they be preformed under strict veterinary supervision.

We only perform grooming and styling procedures that do not place undue stress or cause discomfort to your pet. We will NEVER sacrifice your pet's safety and comfort for your vanity or ours.

No-Show

We give our customers the benefit of the doubt, so they get one chance to no-show/no-call.

After that when you make an appointment after the first no-show, we explain our cancellation policy to them. All no-show/no-call clients are asked for a credit card to hold their next appointment. Appointments may be cancelled with a 24 hour notice or they will be charged for the missed appointment.
When you want to rent a car, or a hotel room, or an airline ticket, they make you guarantee or pay up front. It is a standard practice.

We mail a reminder card one week prior, and if you wish, a call the night before.

A No Tolerance policy is maintained when it comes to the rough handling of any pet.

* Ears to Rears has the right to refuse any dog deemed to difficult to handle whether grooming is completed or not. Owner is responsible for notifying Ears to Rears prior to grooming of previous bites, bite attempts or other behavior problems.
